As part of Transneft’s exhibition, Transneft Diascan presented its proprietary advanced developments for in-line inspection.
At the display, the exhibition’s visitors were shown mockup models of unique inspection systems manufactured by Transneft Diascan – combined magnetic (MFL+TFI) and magnetic and ultrasonic (MFL+WM+CD) flaw detectors.
Transneft Diascan presented mockup models of proprietary combined in-line inspection devices: a magnetic in-line defectoscope with axial and circumferential magnetisation (MFL + TFI) and a combined magnetic ultrasonic in-line defectoscope (MFL+WM+CD).
The educational event was held as part of Year of Energy Saving declared in 2018 at Transneft and in Russia as a whole.
The campaign, which lasted for one day in the Lukhovitsy city district, resulted in about 97 thousand seedlings planted, with a total area of over 24 hectares covered.
The meeting’s participants discussed operation of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines (OTPs and PPTPs) in 2018 and in-line inspection of trunk and process pipelines of oil pumping stations (PSs).
The main purpose of upgrading the ultrasonic device was to improve the efficiency of detecting defects located in dents.
Its ultrasonic diagnostic method does not require use of immersion fluid and is based on direct and inverse electromagnetic-acoustic transduction.
Sergey Matrosov, a multiskilled machine operator at Transneft Diascan, received the Honoured Oil Industry Worker title. Aleksandr Kharitonov, a truck driver, received a diploma of merit from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
The protected technical solution is designed to expand the operational capabilities of the magnetic system during inline inspections due to a reduction of its diameter.
