Transneft Diascan Saves Over 200 Thousand kWh of Electrical Energy Due to Energy Saving Activities in 2020

Date of publication: 26 January 2021

Transneft Diascan has summed up the results of the Energy Saving and Efficiency Improvement Programme for 2020.

During this period, electric energy consumption for the company’s own requirements was reduced by 212.3 thousand kWh due to modernisation of the external and internal lighting systems by means of installation of motion sensors, photo relay and energy efficient LED lamps and luminaires. They have significant advantages as regards power consumption, operating life and environmental safety in comparison with incandescent lamps.

Consumption of boiler and furnace fuels was reduced by 7.58 tonnes of oil equivalent due to operational tests of boilers and automatic safety devices’ regulation.

The consumption of motor fuel was reduced by 3.7 tonnes of oil equivalent due to the motor transport routes optimisation.

Thanks to the 100% implementation of measures to reduce consumption of fuel and energy resources (FER), the company achieved the planned decrease in FER consumption by 0.5% versus the same period of 2019. The total savings amounted to more than 38 tonnes of oil equivalent.

The work to improve the energy efficiency and energy saving at Transneft Diascan facilities is carried out as part of the Transneft Integrated Policy in Occupational Safety, Energy Efficiency, Industrial and Environmental Safety, as well as the ISO 50001:2018 international standard. In September 2020, Transneft Diascan received a certificate of compliance of the energy management system with requirements of the specified standard.
