Transneft Diascan Inspects Over 47,000 Km of Pipelines in 9 Months

In 9 months of 2020, Transneft Diascan inspected more than 47.2 thousand km of trunk pipelines. The work was carried out as part of the Transneft oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTP) diagnostic inspection plan.

During the indicated period, 41.5 thou km of oil trunk pipelines were inspected. Most of the work was carried out at the OTPs of Transneft East (more than 10 thou km), Transneft Siberia (7.8 thou km) and Transneft Druzhba (5.6 thou km).

In-line inspection of 5.7 thou km of petroleum products trunk pipelines was completed, of which more than 2 thou km were pipelines of Transneft Upper Volga.

Following the results of the inspection, the condition of the examined facilities was declared satisfactory. The defects detected during the inspection process will be eliminated during scheduled repairs.

Transneft Diascan carries out diagnostics using: geometry tools; ultrasonic, magnetic, combined magnetic and combined magnetic ultrasonic inspection tools; ultrasonic devices for multi-angle examination of pipe walls and inspection tools to detect defects in the insulation coating of pipelines. The company develops and produces all mentioned types of tools independently. At present, the fleet of modern in-line inspection tools of Transneft Diascan consists of about 100 units.
