The Diagnostics Directorate of Transneft Diascan inspected 31 oil and petroleum products storage tanks in Q1 2020. The work was conducted as part of Transneft’s integrated programme on diagnostic examination of pipelines and oil pumping stations` facilities.
Full technical diagnostics with decommissioning was performed at 5 tanks; partial technical diagnostics without decommissioning was performed at 7 tanks.
19 additional inspections of tanks were performed: monitoring of tanks, control of technical condition of aluminium dome-shaped roofs of vertical steel tanks, control of the condition of external and internal anticorrosive coating, additional flaw-detection inspection (x-ray examination) of welded joints between the third and the fourth belts of the tank wall. The inspection was conducted using ultrasonic, acoustic emission and industrial radiography methods.
The bulk of works were conducted at the facilities of Zapad-Transnefteproduct (6 tanks), Transneft Siberia (5 tanks), Transneft Western Siberia (4 tanks), Transneft Baltic (4 tanks), Transneft East (3 tanks) and Transneft Kama Region (2 tanks).
Following the results of the inspection, the condition of the examined facilities was declared satisfactory. The defects detected will be eliminated during scheduled repairs.
