Transneft Diascan has taken part in the INNOPROM 2019 international industrial exhibition. The event was held on 8-11 July 2019 in Yekaterinburg (Russia).
Transneft presented a mockup model of a combined magnetic and ultrasonic inspection tool at its exhibition booth. The tool for in-line inspection is recognised as the flagship of the inspection tool fleet developed by Transneft Diascan designers. They were the first to combine two physical principles of diagnostics (ultrasonic and magnetic) in a single in-line inspection device. Thanks to this invention, the said inspection tool using WM+MFL+CD technologies can detect the main types of pipe defects: axial slits, pitting corrosion, metal lamination and loss, notches as well as defects in axial and girth welds.
Of special value is the ability of the integrated magnetic and ultrasonic tool to detect combined defects which are particularly hazardous and difficult to detect using inspection tools based on one physical principle (either ultrasonic or magnetic).
The INNOPROM international industrial exhibition has been held since 2010 and is considered to be the main industrial, commercial and export platform in Russia which lays the foundation for the national industrial policy. The 2019 forum was visited by RF President Vladimir Putin.
