Transneft Diascan has taken part in the 17th Asian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition – OGA 2019. The event was held from 18 to 20 June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
At the exhibition booth, the Company presented prototype models of ultrasonic and combined magnetic ultrasonic inspection tools. These proprietary inspection devices produced by Transneft Diascan are intended for carrying out in-line inspection of pipelines (ILI). The ultrasonic inspection tool helps to detect such dangerous pipe wall flaws as corrosion, lamination, notches, as well as girth welded edge displacement.
The combined magnetic ultrasonic inspection tool is a unique development of Transneft Diascan’s designers. The inspection tool combines two methods of in-line inspection — magnetic and ultrasonic — and ensures a single-run detection of all major flaw types both throughout the pipe body and in axial and circumferential welds, including highly dangerous combined flaws.
The Oil & Gas Asia exhibition is one of the largest oil and gas forums in the Southeast Asian, where Transneft Diascan enlarges its footprint in the field of in-line inspection of pipelines. Earlier, the Company’s specialists performed pipeline inspection in Malaysia, in 2019 they plan to do ILI in Indonesia.
