Transneft Diascan Sums up Results of Implementing Transneft’s Energy Saving Programme in 2018

Transneft Diascan has summed up the results of implementing Transneft’s Energy Saving and Efficiency Improvement Programme in 2018.

As part of implementation of a set of measures, 2,284 lamps and 185 lightning fixtures were replaced with LED ones at the Company's facilities. As a result, electricity consumption decreased by 188.35 thousand kWh.

Saving of boiler and furnace fuel used to generate thermal energy amounted to 7.65 t.o.e. thanks to prior replacement of the insulation on the heating main. In addition, last year, an individual heat supply station at the administrative building of the Company’s Samara branch was equipped with an automatic system that regulates heat supply to buildings depending on the outdoor temperature.

Particular attention was paid to the efficiency of use of motor fuel for vehicles. All motor vehicles of Transneft Diascan are equipped with the GLONASS system, which allows to optimise routes and make the best use of the available resources and motor vehicles’ capacity. The saving of motor fuel amounted to 11.03 t.o.e.

In 2018, Transneft Diascan’s energy management system (EnMS) was certified in accordance with the ISO 50001: 2011 international standard for the first time. The use of energy management system demonstrates the Company's ability to carry out its activities while minimising environmental impact and ensuring maximum energy efficiency and power safety.

In addition, during the last year, employees of Transneft Diascan actively participated in thematic competitions, held lectures on energy saving for schoolchildren and took them on tours.
