Transneft Diascan Performs over 600 Diagnostics of Oil and Petroleum Products Storage Tanks in 2018

Diagnostics Directorate of Transneft Diascan inspected 609 oil and petroleum products storage tanks in 2018. The diagnostics were performed as part of Transneft’s annual integrated programme of diagnostic examination of pipelines and PS (oil pumping stations) facilities for 2018.

Full technical diagnostics with decommissioning was performed at 106 tanks; partial technical diagnostics without decommissioning was performed at 118 tanks.

385 additional inspections of tanks were performed: monitoring of tanks (67 pcs), control of technical condition of aluminium dome-shaped roofs of vertical steel tanks (20 pcs), control of the condition of external and internal anticorrosive coating (129 pcs), additional flaw-detection inspection (x-ray examination) of welded joints between the third and the fourth belts of tank wall (105 pcs). The inspection was conducted using ultrasonic, acoustic-emission and x-ray examination methods.

The bulk of the works were conducted at the facilities of Transneft Druzhba (99 tanks), Transneft Western Siberia (88 tanks), Transneft Siberia (68 tanks), Transneft Urals (59 tanks) and Transneft Kama Region (55 tanks).

Moreover, 1 589 units of additional equipment used at line portion of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines were inspected by Transneft Diascan in 2018. Diagnostics of 3,235 mechanic and technological equipment units and 387 automation and pipeline telemetry systems were performed as well. 179 km of pipelines were inspected, full technical diagnostics was performed at 17 km of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and PS lines.

The diagnostics were performed both using the Company’s own resources and with involvement of subcontracting organisations.
