Date of publication: 22 October 2018

Transneft Diascan has conducted an introductory tour for tenth-graders of Gymnasium No.10 located in Lukhovitsy. The event was held as part of career guidance for graduates. In total, 25 children of high school age took part in the tour.

The schoolchildren’s acquaintance with the Company’s main activity, in-line inspection, began with an introductory film screening. After that, the schoolchildren visited several operating facilities, including a diagnostic shop, a test ground, a test laboratory, a polyurethane production shop and the information processing section. The greatest interest was aroused by the diagnostic shop, where the visitors were able to have a look at in-line inspection devices and learn their principles of operation as well as the distinctive features of each of the types of defectoscopes.

Employees of Transneft Diascan’s information processing section told the schoolchildren about processing data received from diagnostic devices and showed how pipeline defects are displayed on a computer screen after information from a defectoscope’s digital media is read.
