Transneft Diascan has undergone another regular audit of its occupational health management system (OHMS) and environmental management system (EMS) to verify their compliance with international standards. Regarding the OHMS, an auditor from DQS, an international certification authority, confirmed the system’s compliance with the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard and recommended that validity of the certificate issued in 2016 be extended for another year.
This year, Transneft Diascan’s environmental management system has switched to a new version of the international standard: ISO 14001:2015 instead of ISO 14001:2004. The new version gives the EMS such advantages as possibilities for better integration with other management systems standards, implementation of measures designed to protect the environment from negative impact and depletion, with stronger emphasis on monitoring environmental performance. Based on the audit’s results, the Company will receive a new certificate of conformity with ISO 14001:2015.
The occupational health management system is part of the general management system at Transneft Diascan. It is focused on ensuring safe and healthy working conditions, safety of operational processes and safe work practices as well as reduced occupational injuries and diseases. The OHMS was adopted by the Company in 2007 and certified in 2008.
The environmental management system ensures a high level of environmental conservation in compliance with the laws, enables to set priorities when planning environmental measures and raise employees’ environmental awareness. The EMS was adopted at Transneft Diascan in 2004 and certified in 2005.
