Transneft Diascan and Transneft obtain legal protection of invented method of fabricating dry pulling bench at test grounds

Date of publication: 09 June 2018 Print

Transneft Diascan in concert with Transneft has obtained a Russian Federation patent for the invented method of fabricating a dry pulling bench for verifying operability of inline inspection tools at a pipeline testing ground.

The method safeguarded by the patent is applied to fabricate a dry pulling bench which is an element of a pipeline test ground at Transneft Diascan. Using the bench, professionals can test magnetic defectoscopes, geometry tools and tools to identify the pipeline spatial position. Spools of pipe sections with natural defects of operating pipelines and spools of pipe sections with artificial defects applied to them are the main elements of the bench. The defects are classified into several types and are severely standardised.

The dry pulling bench is easy to use. Upon completion of inline defectoscope testing it can be cut apart and its sections (spools of pipe sections) can be reused if needed.
