Transneft Diascan presents unique developments at AOG 2017 Global Show

Date of publication: 29 September 2017 Print

Transneft Diascan participated in a major global oil and gas show, Argentina International Oil & Gas Expo (AOG) 2017. The event was held on September 25 - 28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The enterprise presented the mockups of own-produced diagnostic equipment – ultrasound (WM) and combined magnetic (MFL+TFI) defectoscopes at its booth.

Ultrasound defectoscopes are intended to defect, locate and assess the size of such defects as corrosion, layering, groove and are based on the ultrasound thickness gauging method.

Combined magnetic defectoscopes are the unique development of Transneft Diascan and are intended to look for longitudinal and transverse defects. The device is based on the recording of magnetic flow transverse and longitudinal leakage.  The combined defectoscope of Transneft Diascan allows for more efficient identification of different types of defects, including unauthorized tie-ins and welded seam defects, as compared with a conventional device, per one passage in a pipeline.
