Transneft Diascan presented the diagnostic equipment at the international exhibition in Indonesia

Date of publication: 18 September 2017 Print

Transneft Diascan participated in the 11th International Oil and Gas Industry Exhibition Oil & Gas Indonesia 2017. The event was conducted on 13-16 September 2017 in Jakarta (Indonesia).

As part of the exhibition stand Transneft Diascan showed modern high-technology diagnostic equipment - models of ultrasonic (WM) and combined magnetic ultrasonic (MFL + WM + CD) defectoscopes. The exposition aroused much interest of the exhibition visitors.

The combined magnetic ultrasonic defectoscope is the flagship among the in-line devices developed and produced by the enterprise. The enterprise was one of the first in the world who suggested joining two main in-line inspection methods (ultrasonic (WM and CD) and magnetic (MFL) in one device. Such combination allows effectively combining advantages of both methods, because defects barely noticeable upon using one physical principle (for example, ultrasonic), as a rule, are well distinguishable upon using the other (magnetic) method, and vice versa. Maximum sensitivity of the in-line device to detecting defects for one pass is achieved due to combining two methods. This defectoscope is presented with the diameters from 20” to 48”.

The WM ultrasonic defectoscope with high resolution capacity allows detecting and evaluating sizes of such pipe wall defects as corrosion, lamination, scratch mark. The in-line inspection tool allows inspecting pipelines from 6” to 48” in diameter.

For reference:

Gas Indonesia is conducted biennially with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Indonesia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Indonesia. In 2015 more than 500 companies from 40 countries and more than 9 thousand specialists participated in the conference.
