Transneft Diascan, JSC certifying inspection equipment for compliance with European standards

Certification of the inspection equipment for obtaining the European certificate of design documentation conformity with the standards of   VdTUV-Merkblatt 1069 started at Transneft Diascan, JSC. This procedure is to assure the competitiveness of the company’s products for nondestructive inspection of pipelines and facilities of the line portion of pipelines at the European market.

TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH (Munich, Germany) is conducting the certification comprising three stages.

First stage included preparation of an offer and conclusion of a contract for certification of the inline inspection tools (ILIT) of Transneft Diascan, JSC. Furthermore, specialists of TÜV SÜD reviewed the technical documentation that is necessary for certification.

Second stage commenced on November 23 and will last until December 6, 2015. During this time, German specialists will be assessing the inspection tools for the compliance with the specifications and technical data stated in the design documentation. Conclusions will be drawn according to the results of inspection tools runs at the test site of Transneft Diascan, JSC.

Basic types of inspection tools developed by the company are being certified: multichannel geometry tool; inspection tool for identification of pipeline position (IPP); ultrasonic, combined magnet, and combined magnet and ultrasonic inspection tools; and a new generation tool – ultrasonic inspection tool for identification of arbitrary oriented defects. Six types of inline inspection tools in total.

At the third stage, specialists of TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH will review the data acquired in the testing and prepare a report, upon which the certificate of conformity shall be issued.

Planned date of the certificate issue is March 2016.
